Banana Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients

  • 1 1⁄2 cups bananas, mashed, ripe
  • 2 teaspoons lemon juice
  • 3 cups flour
  • 1 1⁄2 teaspoons baking soda
  • 1⁄4 teaspoon salt
  • 3⁄4 cup butter, softened
  • 2 1⁄8 cups sugar
  • 3 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 1 1⁄2 cups buttermilk
FROSTING
  • 1⁄2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese, softened
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 3 1⁄2 cups icing sugar
GARNISH
  • Chopped walnuts

Hazelnut Cake Squares

Ingredients

  • 1 package yellow cake mix (regular size)
  • 3 large Nellie’s Free Range Eggs
  • 2/3 cup water
  • 2/3 cup Nutella
  • 1/4 cup canola oil
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped hazelnuts, toasted
  • 1/2 cup brickle toffee bits, optional
  • Confectioners’ sugar, optional

  1. Preheat oven to 350°. Grease a 13×9-in. baking pan.
  2. In a large bowl, combine cake mix, eggs, water, Nutella and oil; beat on low speed 30 seconds. Beat on medium 2 minutes. Fold in chocolate chips, hazelnuts and, if desired, toffee bits. Transfer to
