Hershey’s Kiss Fans Are Really Missing the Point

Hershey’s Kiss fans have a tip for the chocolate maker: Bring back the tips.

After a Facebook cookie-baking group noticed that the tips were missing from recent batches of Hershey’s Kisses – right in the midst of the holiday-cookie-baking season – the chocolate maker tried to make things right with the group by donating “a number of our iconic baking items as a thank you for their love of the Hershey’s brand and our Kisses and to heartwarm their holidays,” a Hershey’s spokesperson told Lebanon Daily News.

Jeff Beckman, Hershey’s director of corporate communications, told the Lebanon, Pennsylvania, newspaper the company was currently looking into the broken-tip situation, in which the dollop-shaped candies’ traditional pointy tips were turning up flat or jagged.

“We understand that bakers’ expectations are high for an iconic brand that is more than 100 years old because they are proud of their desserts,” he said.

Beckman suggested, in an exchange with Today Food, that the issue had occurred at some point along the production line and that efforts were underway to address it.

The company also apparently tried to get ahead of the social-media backlash by posting a message on Twitter showing a lineup of various types of Kisses, some of them with the tops missing, captioning the image: “Warm hearts this holiday season and take the time to celebrate our differences.”

That went over about how you’d expect.

“Weak try with the diversity distraction. Now, fix the problem!” wrote one unimpressed commenter.

“Address tipgate!” demanded another.

“Is this an ill disguised chocolate theft?” wondered a third. “Tips do add up!”

Others, however, saw opportunity in the missing tips.

“Hey #hersheys, PLEASE send me all the tipless kisses – It would never ruin my day to have chocolate!!!!!!” one wrote.

Peeps Coffee Creamer Is Here And It’s Exactly What Your Morning Needs

We may technically be just a few weeks into winter, but I am going to go ahead and say spring has officially sprung. Why, you may ask? Because International Delight just dropped a new coffee creamer featuring the springiest candy out there: PEEPS!

Peeps, the perennial Easter stocking stuffer you likely either love or despise, can now be seen plastered over the cutest coffee creamer bottle I’ve ever laid eyes on. It has a yellow cap, obviously, with a whole bunch of pastel-colored Peeps around the bottle.

And since winter is cold and hot coffee deserves to be spruced up with a marshmallow creamer, the product is hitting shelves this week. Yes! In January! That’s a full three months before Peeps usually start to make an appearance on the ends of grocery and convenience store shelves with all the other Easter display candies.

In case you forgot, International Delight is the same brand that brought us the Oreo coffee creamer last summer, and they’ve got more than 20 different kinds of creamer out, from Hershey’s Chocolate Caramel to White Chocolate Raspberry to the slightly tamer French Vanilla. You can find them all at your local grocery store now.

‘Game Of Thrones’ Largest Man Eats Up to 10,000 Calories Per Day

Fans of the hit HBO series Game of Thrones will no doubt be familiar with Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, the 400-pound Icelandic actor and bodybuilder who plays Ser Gregor Clegane, A.K.A. “The Mountain.”

What those fans might not have known (though they might well have suspected) is that Björnsson also happens to be the World’s Strongest Man—a feat he has attained by sticking to a monstrous diet.

Björnsson, who stands at six-feet-nine, recently explained to Business Insider that he burns through six meals per day in order to sustain his bulk and exercise regimen—an immense amount of food that can add up to about 10,000 calories each day.

To give him those calories, he mainly eats lean proteins and simple carbohydrates, including steak, rice, carrots, peppers and sometimes chicken.

If you’re feeling jealous about being able to eat that much all the time, maybe don’t be.

“I think sometimes, ‘Is this worth it?’” he told Business Insider. “I’m always eating, and I’m never hungry. I’m always eating and working out.”

Taco Bell Is Testing Another Nachos Box, And This One’s Loaded With Jalapeños

Taco Bell is leaning into nachos hard right now. The fast food chain announced a full Cantina Nachos menu at its new Manhattan Cantina restaurant, with items like the Chicken Enchilada Nachos Box and the Steak and Cheddar Nachos Box available. Taco Bell is also testing a Buffalo Chicken Nachos Box in Charlotte, North Carolina.

Rather than stop there, T. Bell decided to add another iteration to the mix in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, per Brand Eating. The $5 Cheesy Jalapeño Nachos Box sounds like a must-try for anyone who loves spicy food.

Here’s how the cheesy, spicy snack is served: Crispy tortilla chips are covered in creamy jalapeño sauce, pickled jalapeño slices, and refried beans (to balance out the spice). Then comes a three-cheese blend, sour cream, and pico de gallo, for good measure. Since it’s part of a box deal, you get a medium fountain drink with your nachos, too.

Like the buffalo chicken nachos, this menu item will be available through mid-January only in its test city. If it does well, you may see it in more stores nationwide in the coming months.

Arby’s Oreo-Topped, Oreo-Stuffed, And Oreo-Dusted Oreo Bites Are Back

According to Chew Boom, Arby’s is bringing back its (fairly new) Oreo Bites back. The little donuts—which were first introduced around this time last year—are now on menus again at participating Arby’s locations.

In case you weren’t able to grab a pack the first time around, the dessert is being described as “chocolate doughnut bites baked with real Oreo wafer pieces, filled with Oreo crème and dusted with an Oreo sugar blend.” Oh, and they’re served warm.

They originally came in $2.59 six-packs; It’s unclear if the deal is the same this time. All we really know for sure is that there’s a big “LIMITED TIME” notification in regard to these guys on Arby’s site. That’s all to say we have no idea how long we’re going to get to enjoy these…though the repeat timing implies it may very well be an annual seasonal treat from now on.

Teacher’s Post About A Gift From A Student Who Had “Nothing To Give” Goes Viral

Rachel Uretsky-Pratt, a 24-year-old elementary school teacher in Kennewick, Washington, receives gifts of all sorts from her students at the end of each calendar year, the Washington Post reports. But it was one child (and the gift she came up with) who particularly touched her this year.

That’s why, when “this student opened up her free breakfast cereal this morning, took the packaging of her spork, straw, and napkin, and finally took the time to take every marshmallow out of her cereal to put in a bag,” she was particularly astounded: “This kiddo wanted to get [me] something so badly, but had nothing to give.” Still, the child had gone out of her way to put together something special and sweet.

Since the post went up, it’s been shared more than 125,000 times and has received tens of thousands of comments. The overwhelming response prompted Uretsky-Pratt to update her story this week, explaining her “wish for all of you is to remember this kind and simple gesture of love from one of my school babies and carry it with you and continue to spread love and kindness to everyone you meet.”

Starbucks’ Black And White Mocha Collection Is Back In Stores For A Limited Time

Everybody knows that calories simply do not count between Christmas and New Year’s. Really, between Thanksgiving and New Year’s, but that’s another story. Given that (not-so) scientific fact, if you find yourself at Starbucks in the next few days, you may want to forego your usual drip coffee in favor of something off Starbucks’ Black and White Mocha Collection menu.

Back in stores for a very limited time—starting December 26 and running through the New Year or while supplies last—the collection brings together two delicious flavors: white chocolate and dark mocha.

You can order three different drinks off the menu. There’s the Black and White Mocha, if you need some caffeine. Baristas pour espresso over white chocolate and dark mocha, then add in steamed milk and top it with whipped cream and a stripe of chocolate “sequins” that are meant to resemble a black tie.

If you’re in the mood for hot chocolate, there’s also a Black and White Hot Cocoa that’s made by melting dark and white chocolate mocha sauce with steamed milk. This one comes with whipped cream and chocolate shavings, too.

Last but not least, there’s a Black and White Frappuccino, which blends the two sauces with Frappuccino roast coffee, milk, and ice to make a creamy coffee-meets-milkshake. Don’t worry, it also comes with whipped cream and chocolate on top. Try them out while you can!
